Transfer: Liverpool confirm deal for Laws as 23-year-old attacker joins Manchester United

Liverpool have confirmed that goalkeeper Rachael Laws has signed a new contract with the women’s team.

The Reds disclosed this in a statement via its website on Tuesday.

The statement read: “Rachael Laws has signed a new contract with Liverpool FC Women.

“Rachael Laws has signed a new contract with Liverpool FC Women.

“The 31-year-old goalkeeper enjoyed an outstanding 2021-22 for the Reds as she secured the Golden Glove during the campaign to help win the FA Women’s Championship.

“That included a collection of 13 clean sheets in the league, a new club record in a single season.”

Meanwhile, Manchester United have announced the signing of a 23-year-old attacker, Lucía García.

Garcia signed a contract that will see her remain at Man United until the 2023/24 season.

In a statement via its website, Man United said, “Manchester United Women are delighted to announce the signing of Spanish international Lucía García on a contract running until the end of the 2023/24 season.

“Lucía spent six years with Athletic Club in her native Spain, making 161 appearances and scoring 63 goals.”

“The 23-year-old attacker lined-up at this summer’s UEFA Women’s European Championships alongside fellow red Ona Batlle, with Spain making it to the quarter final stage of the competition.”
