Manchester United have a big-money offer on the table to snap up Benfica striker Darwin Nunez, while Friday’s Paper Talk claims that Newcastle are offering Philippe Coutinho an incentive to join them over Aston Villa and Tottenham are chasing a highly-touted EFL defender.
OFFER ON THE TABLE AS MAN UTD TARGET BENFICA ACE
Manchester United reportedly have a €71million (£59.8m) offer on the table to sign highly-touted Benfica striker Darwin Nunez.
The Portuguese giants are said to be willing to cash in on the exciting marksman, who is also being linked with Arsenal, Tottenham, West Ham and Newcastle.
United are looking to replace Edinson Cavani this summer, while doubts have also emerged over the future of Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood remains suspended.
Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to complete his two-year deal with the club in 2022-23. Indeed, Ralf Rangnick has already confirmed that the Red Devils want a new No.9 to partner Ronaldo next term.
And it would appear that Nunez could be that man.
The 22-year-old Uruguay international is regarded as one of the most exciting young talents in Europe.
Nunez has notched 26 goals from 33 appearances for Benfica this season and is known for his movement, speed and finishing ability.
The Daily Telegraph does, however, claim that Champions League football would be necessary to seal a deal for the attacker.
Ralf Rangnick’s side are currently sixth in the Premier League and are four points behind fourth-placed Arsenal. The Gunners also have a game in hand on their rivals.
NEWCASTLE OFFER COUTINHO INCENTIVE TO SIGN
Newcastle could reportedly offer Philippe Coutinho a £1million bonus to sign him ahead of Arsenal and Aston Villa.
The Barcelona playmaker has impressed on loan at Villa after arriving in the January transfer window.
But Spanish publication Sport claims the Saudi-backed Magpies have made contact over the Brazilian star via intermediaries.
It’s still claimed that Barca would be happy to turn his Villa switch into a permanent £33.5m deal.
However, any intervention from cash-rich Newcastle might drastically change the situation – with the financially-hit Catalan giants needing more funds to complete moves for prospective summer targets.
TOTTENHAM CHASING TOP EFL TALENT
Tottenham have turned their attention to highly-rated Oxford United defender Luke McNally.
Football Insider claims that Spurs have been alerted to the potential availability of the 22-year-old amid plenty of interest from other clubs.
It’s reported that one bid of £2million has already been submitted for the player.
Football Insider states that Fabio Paratici has now stepped up his efforts to sign the Republic of Ireland international.
Tottenham scouts have been watching McNally recently and intend to carry on doing so until the end of the campaign.
