Leicester City’s final decision on selling Wesley Fofana to Chelsea revealed

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers has ruled out exits for James Maddison and Wesley Fofana.

England international midfielder Maddison has been the subject of interest from Newcastle, who have had an offer rejected by the Foxes.

Leicester has also batted away a bid from Chelsea for centre-back star Fofana, as the Blues look to shore up their defensive options.

Rodgers was asked about both in his pre-match press conference today, ahead of his side’s Premier League opener against Brentford on Sunday.

And he gave a bullish response.

“Wesley Fofana and James Maddison are not for sale,” said the Foxes boss.

“These are very important players to us.

“We’re in a situation where we need to move some players out but that doesn’t mean getting rid of anyone, our best assets”.
