Dean Henderson will play for Nottingham Forest, who have reached an agreement with Manchester United for the loan of the England international goalkeeper.
Nottingham Forest have announced the loan of Manchester United and England goalkeeper Dean Henderson. He has been with the Red Devils since the age of 14 and has made 49 Premier League appearances to date.
At 25 years-old, he spent two seasons on loan with Sheffield United, initially helping the ‘blades’ to get promotion and winning the Golden Glove in the Sky Bet Championship 2018/19.
“Dean is a world-class goalkeeper and is hungry for more opportunities to play and continue to prove himself at the highest level,” said Forest head coach Steve Cooper. “He has played a number of times in the Premier League, but has also experienced Champions League and international football,” Cooper added.
Henderson joins an illustrious list of English keepers to play for Forest and has also represented the ‘Three Lions’ at four different age groups. He joins the Nottingham Forest squad with immediate effect and is part of the pre season camp in Spain.
In his opening remarks, Henderson said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining such a fantastic club with an amazing set of fans and a wonderful history. I would like to thank the manager and owners of Nottingham Forest for the great opportunity to play for this club in its first season in the Premier League. I am very excited to work with everyone at the club, from the manager, players and goalkeeping coach, Danny Alcock”.
Thus ends the debate at Manchester United between Henderson and De Gea. The Spanish international’s strong last season ensures his continuity in Erik ten Hag’s project.
